Christmas in the Chicago Loop

Location used to be an all-important word. Repeated in triplicate, it implied that one was putting thought into the advantages that one’s position – not social nor economic, but physical – provided. More real estate agents than seems possible have used the term to present their inventory in the best light. Stars, from the movies to rock and roll heroes, have always centered their sizeable incomes on placing themselves into locations from which they can not only be seen – or live a secluded life, in a few rare cases – but can access the things that they view as the comforts in life.

And that has been how it has been for decades, if not centuries. And yet, in a pair of decades, that has all changed. Don’t tell that to anyone trying to unload real estate in a supposedly prime location. But almost as fast as the real estate bubble burst, the Internet changed the importance of location to a secondary, tertiary, or even further-down-the-line concern. Online shopping has made the entire world appear closer than the corner convenience store. Ordering up just about anything via online shopping, one can expect in it their hands just a few days later. No longer are hours wasted in getting to the store.

In much the same way, distance learning courses have made higher education more attainable for many people. By making location a non-issue, eligible students can enrich and deepen their educational base, positioning them to land more lucrative jobs. As the world becomes ever more oriented toward flex time and virtual commuting, these skills will enrich lives from downtown Chicago to the rural areas of West Virginia. And as a college degree becomes ever more the minimum educational base for landing a salaried or decent job, online degrees open ever more doors to those who will work hard to self motivate and succeed.

It was once the trade of pages, the limitations of books and pencil scribbling. An education was defined by the quick interactions of a classroom; the assignments sprawled on a chalkboard and the dismissals that followed. Students were forced to leave, made to replace school with the comforts of home. And from this came complications. Suddenly, there was no way to ask the necessary questions, and there was no way to find the much craved answers. Children were instead isolated, meant to search alone.

Now, however, times have yielded a far better alternative: online communication.

Through the use of social networks and forums, students can create an interactive experience. Education is no longer shaped by the schoolyard. It can instead be sought in the virtual world. Research can be conducted. Conversations can be easily traded. And all information can be found with the click of a button. It’s the introduction to convenience, with teachers now recognizing its potential.

And so the utilization of social media monitoring has become common among instructors. Discovering the most frequently visited websites and forums allow individuals to understand how their pupils think (and how they ultimately learn). Creating accounts on these networks provides a necessary glimpse into the minds of adolescents, allowing lessons to be more carefully crafted, as well as offering an easier connection.

Students were once denied access to their professors when the final bell rang. They had to instead stumble through all assignments on their own. Through social sites, however, it’s now possible for an entire class to seek each other out, with teachers providing continual updates, suggestions and advice.

This fosters a necessary trust and ensures that the education process succeeds. It is no longer defined to the immediacy of a schoolroom. It is instead able to be offered at any hour, and this is essential in creating worthwhile relationships and advanced learning skills.

Kerala, India is just one of the many areas all over the world that have decided to make education a top priority. They realize that with the growing global economy, and the daily challenges every nation faces, the world needs educated people to handle the changes. Without a strong sense of education, these countries are doomed to be followers in the global community rather than leaders.

If you are a teacher from any part of the world, then you might be interested to know that a large number of teachers just like you are embracing the idea of teaching to the global community.  They are placing themselves in other countries. This has been a long standing opportunity for teachers, but is becoming more and more commonplace as teachers are seeing the advantage of teaching outside of their own country.

The biggest advantage is the experience. Few teachers ever take the opportunity to teach in a foreign country. There are many places all over the world where the experience is more than the worth of the job. Getting to teach in a diverse and fascinating country like India, or teaching in a place like Spain will give you the experience of living in a new country and a memory that will last a lifetime.

It will also look great on a future teaching resume.  Teaching abroad will help you to get a job when you come back, whether it’s working for one of the big printing companies or continuing your career as a teacher. Teaching abroad is a great resume builder and it will show employers that you have a different spirit to you. To them, that could mean you would be valuable on their staff. Don’t brush off the idea of teaching outside of your country. You might find it to be the best decision you have ever made.

Getting more education after you’re well into the adult world can seem daunting, but it’s something a lot of people do. Don’t be afraid to go back and earn the degree that you always dreamed of getting. You can get a criminal justice degree online, or choose from many other degree options. It all depends on what you want to do with your life and the kind of career you want for yourself. It’s never too late to get your degree and have the satisfaction of accomplishing something you really want to do. Whether you just recently decided to get a degree or you’ve been dreaming about it for a long time, it can be extremely rewarding to go back to school.

A lot of people return to school when the economy is bad, to qualify for a better-paying job, but you can certainly go back in a good economy, too. With all of the grants and loans that are available today, there’s no better time to return to school. The cost will be very low for most people, and even those who take out loans won’t need to worry about repaying them while they’re in school. In most cases, repayment begins six months after graduation, often coming at a time when you’re making money at your new job.

When you decide to go back to school, you’ll have the option of going to a traditional classroom or learning online. A lot of people choose the online option because they find that they’re better able to study and learn when it’s at their own pace. Also, an online degree can offer additional flexibility so that people can work around their employment, their children, and their duties in their own household. Don’t let your other obligations stop you from getting your degree.

Other than being a rock star or famous sports hero, most people’s lifelong goal includes the attainment of a college degree. This is true for many reasons. To reach certain goals in life, it is necessary to gain a degree. Also, every reputable body agrees that those whom have a college degree will earn more than one million dollars more than their high school graduate counterparts. But due to a variety of reasons, many people still have yet to get their degree.

Two of the biggest obstacles are time and access. Due to the high cost of going to school, many students must work but then they do not have the time to go to school, which requires a regular course schedule. Now, with distance learning degrees and new technological advances, there is no reason why anyone wishing to cannot finish a degree.

Distance learning education is one of the most underutilized tools that are available to millions of people nationwide. The Internet, whether through public Wi-Fi places or home connections, is available to almost everyone. And, it can be used to get a degree. Many reputable schools have distance learning degrees available. You can get any degree from an M.B.A. to a Master’s in Public Health with on-site learning.

While most of the educating is done online, there are a few exceptions. Certain schools do mandate that you have to take your mid-term or final tests with a proxy or someone to administer it. While some may see going to campus once or twice a semester as a drawback, it is nothing compared to finding the time to go to school at various times of the day, five days a week.

The key to your future and your goal of attaining a degree is within your grasp if you choose to go the distance.

Online college courses have started to really take off in the past couple of years. What used to be a couple courses that most jobs and states didn’t even recognize as a legitimate college has now turned into a whole empire of online college courses. There are online college courses available all over the country and will help provide the educational needs for a number of career choices from nursing, legal aid, communications, IT, English and even teaching.

Attending online college has a lot of benefits over attending a regular brick and mortar school. Here are just a handful of benefits of online college courses.

You can still attend college and have a job. Many people will attend online college in their spare time so that they can still keep their jobs and not have to worry about any financial issues. The flexibility allows them to keep up both job and schooling.

Stay at home mothers/fathers get an education. Stay at home parents often had to put schooling aside in favor of having to care for their children. Now parents can use the flexibility of online college courses to care of a child and have an education at the same time.

Faster Courses. Many brick and mortar college and universities take 4 to 5 years to get a degree. With online courses many of these offer a fast track to the degree of choice. This speeds up the process and saves people time, money and will allow you to enter the career field of choice once you are completed.

Cost effective. When you attend online college courses there is no need to have to drive back and forth, or get any fancy materials. This can be a very cost effective education option for many students who might not be able to get an education because of how expensive some colleges can be.

Your life is open to every kind of possibilities you can imagine. Any limitations you’re currently feeling are all in your mind. You just need to keep that in mind at all times because there are going to be moments when you feel like your life just isn’t under your control. It is all too easy, especially when you first start out with something, to have the mindset of a victim whose life is under the control of someone or something outside of him or herself. You have all kinds of options- remember it! It will be the fact that keeps you from sliding down into the land of losers.

One problem a lot of people have when they consider getting an education is that of mobility. Maybe you don’t have a car, which would make getting to and from most classes a serious logistical hurdle to overcome. So don’t overcome that, move around it. Have you considered the possibility that with an inexpensive computer and internet connection, coupled with a site like OnlineEducation.com, you have the power to continue your education and develop new skills at any geographical location you can think of. In this day and age, you do not have to live near a university or college campus in order to go to your classes.

Your classes can come to you through the little wire you use for your Internet connection as surely as a voice on the phone. Sites like OnlineEducation.com make getting your education wherever you happen to be as easy as getting a pizza wherever you are. You never need to leave your home for most kinds of degrees, and even getting clinicals out of the way (such as if you are going to become a nurse) are only commutes to somewhere located near you. A great education is as close to you as the computer that you already use.

If Napoleon Hill were alive today, he would probably be impressed by how much our world has accomplished in the span of less than a hundred years after his death. The world has changed in so many ways, with our ability to communicate instantly with more than just our voices and the capacity to reach the Moon and see the stars as closely as if they were our next door neighbors. One of the things he would likely be even more impressed by, even than penicillin, is the fact that now people can go to college online. The Internet has changed everything in ways that our world still hasn’t completely adjusted to.

Of course, Hill knew about mail order courses. Back in his day, you could always send away a money order and receive a course in how to do this or that. You could learn how to wrestle, how to do algebra and trigonometry, how to read and write in another language; the world of education was actually quite robust back in the day. Unfortunately, our real world educational facilities have gone downhill for the most part over the past few decades. You might say that they just don’t make them like they used to with them being graduated students.

Fortunately, the Internet is here to save us once again from our own issues. Using sites like EarnMyDegree.com, you can do the same thing that the people doing mail order courses back in the old days did — work a whole lot harder. Just about anybody can be “pulled along” while they sit in a classroom and day dream. They are just bound to learn something — and what teacher wants to keep the kids around who don’t care? Getting passed through many schools is as easy as just showing up. But when you do an online curriculum, you can’t show up. You just have to work.
