Gone are the days of simple chalkboard and chalk in the modern classroom. Digital technology has changed the face and the manner in which students are taught. One of the most intriguing ways the digital world has entered the educational arena is through the use of electronic response systems. This is just one of many new interactive solutions for the modern classroom
Also known as clicker or student response systems, students are provided a digital handheld device that they use to provide answers during classroom instruction. Instructors and teachers know that each student can now answer each question. This instantaneous response also provides information to the teacher as to which students may need extra help. In turn, students also feel more accountability on their part for knowing and understanding the material.
An example of how these systems are used includes traditional textbooks. Students are asked to read a particular section of a book. This is followed by a teacher asking questions and the students respond using their interactive devices. While most of these systems work best with true-false, or yes-no type questions, some systems will allow for a short answer.
These devices can also encourage student interaction and discussion. Teachers can generate opinion questions, which generally require a student to engage in a deeper thought process.
Students are also able to see the answers given by their classmates as the answers can be sent to a projector via the system. This again, provides an opportunity for students to interact and discuss the topic being taught.

Helping our children succeed in school is probably one of the more important things we can teach. Let’s face it, learning starts at home, we are our child’s first teacher. We lay the groundwork and the teachers at school start building from there. Your child needs your encouragement and guidance in order to succeed in school. Ways to encourage and help your children in school come from basic common sense and involvement.
One of the ways is to actually become involved is by volunteering at school. Talk with your child’s teacher or principle to see how your skills can best be used. Even just helping cut out paper or preparing props for a school play shows your child that you want to be involved.
Always talk positively with your child about school and school work. Being negative or having a ho-hum attitude will send out a vibe to your child that you don’t care, which will ultimately rub off on your child. If you don’t care why should he or she care.
Read and encourage reading to your children. Having the ability to read and read well makes things so much easier on the child. They will be able to comprehend more and follow directions more closely. Let them read for pleasure and see you reading for pleasure, as well as reading in everyday life, like recipes and mail.
Monitor homework. Make sure that your child is not getting burned out by taking breaks after, say, 30 to 40 minutes of homework. Check your child’s homework and go over it with them. If your child is struggling, get them help from a tutor and talk to the teacher about the problem.
Encourage responsibility. Give age appropriate chores at home. There is nothing wrong with a child cleaning their room and putting away toys. And always praise them for a job well done. Accepting responsibility at home will also extend to responsibilities for school work.

Kerala, India is just one of the many areas all over the world that have decided to make education a top priority. They realize that with the growing global economy, and the daily challenges every nation faces, the world needs educated people to handle the changes. Without a strong sense of education, these countries are doomed to be followers in the global community rather than leaders.
If you are a teacher from any part of the world, then you might be interested to know that a large number of teachers just like you are embracing the idea of teaching to the global community. They are placing themselves in other countries. This has been a long standing opportunity for teachers, but is becoming more and more commonplace as teachers are seeing the advantage of teaching outside of their own country.
The biggest advantage is the experience. Few teachers ever take the opportunity to teach in a foreign country. There are many places all over the world where the experience is more than the worth of the job. Getting to teach in a diverse and fascinating country like India, or teaching in a place like Spain will give you the experience of living in a new country and a memory that will last a lifetime.
It will also look great on a future teaching resume. Teaching abroad will help you to get a job when you come back, whether it’s working for one of the big printing companies or continuing your career as a teacher. Teaching abroad is a great resume builder and it will show employers that you have a different spirit to you. To them, that could mean you would be valuable on their staff. Don’t brush off the idea of teaching outside of your country. You might find it to be the best decision you have ever made.

Everyone will agree that education is very important for children and adults everywhere. The education system that does not properly educate and prepare children for their future is one that is deemed a failure and in need of improvement. Some schools are faltering but not quite failing yet. There is time to rehabilitate education when it is not meeting the needs of the students, the families and the community. Education should be a village effort, with the community and families working together to provide the best education possible for the children. From school experiences to life experiences such as entering debt consolidation services, everyone coming together can make it happen for the children.
The most important part of education is a spirit of cooperation and a common goal among the parents and teachers, and the community as a whole. If the community is behind the schools and teachers and the parents are as well, there can be a solid foundation from which to teach the children. By combining community service, real-life experiences and an enjoyment of learning, the children will thrive and learn. Their futures will be secure if they obtain a well-rounded, worthy education. Education is not just about the school, but also about the world.
The children in schools need not be taught rigid rules and regulations as much as they need to be given life experiences and opportunities to learn and grow. Of course there are going to be basic rules, but less time spent on rules and more time spent doing engaging activities will keep order, so to speak. Children who are not engaged and interested are children who act out as a result and do not learn. Those teachers, parents and community members who engage the children in enticing experiences and lessons given through real experience are the ones who are truly supporting the children’s education.
